THE package arrived today.

My daughter Lizzie and I opened it together as per our tradition with Sheath packages (she didn't know what was inside). "Aren't you excited, Dad?" curious at my lack of talkativeness and usual school-girl giddiness while tearing into a Sheath mailing.

"Is everything OK? What is it?"

As the layers of bubblewrap were slowly removed, her eyes widened and mine welled up.
The incredible craftwork.
The signatures, all 5 as one, but one in particular - no spotlights, and that 's when it hit Lizzie.
The personalized labels with the name my family knows me as.

That's a lot of words for those "speechless" moments. They fail miserably to convey all the emotions wrapped up in this privilege, this labor of love, music that has played a huge role in keeping me alive and hopeful when my body was broken up pretty badly,.... and most poignantly, a tribute and memorial to Chris.

"Hey, Dad, yours is the exact middle of the 25, 12 on each side! I know you don't believe in luck but that's pretty cool (-: "

"It's ours, Lizzie, and one day it will be yours--always remember, OK?"

Thank you, J&L, and Caspian.

Cheers to all my Sheath brothers and sisters. May the music never stop.

Much love Donny, I can't tell you how much it means to us that anything we've played a part in makes a positive impact. Thanks so much for sharing that <3
